Askern Moss Road Infant Academy

A Fond Farewell to Mrs Collins

The end of the school year is fast approaching and I would like to inform you that Mrs Collins is leaving Moss Road at the end of the school year. She is taking a new career path having taught at Moss Road for sixteen years; her entire teaching career.

I know that Mrs Collins is highly regarded by Moss Road parents and she is going to be sorely missed by children, families and staff. She has made such a positive impact on so many children’s lives and for this we will always be grateful.

Mrs Collins and I have worked very closely together since I became the Executive Head Teacher at Moss Road in 2018. She has worked incredibly hard during that time and has been an excellent Head of School. I will be continuing as the Executive Head Teacher of both Littlemoor and Moss Road; a role which I thoroughly enjoy and see as a great privilege.

The existing Moss Road teachers will also remain and an additional teacher has been appointed to support the smooth running of the school. We have a strong leadership structure in place across the two infant academies including Mrs Hawley (Moss Road’s Y2 teacher), Mrs Briggs (SENCo) and Mr Dougherty (Assistant Head Teacher at Spa Academy). We also have in place a highly skilled and experienced Governing Body operating across the two infant academies offering support and challenge to our leadership team.

Our Trust schools are working ever closer together and we are really excited for September as we continue on our journey of effective partnership working to ensure the best possible outcomes for all our children.

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions and bubble closures, Mrs Collins may have to remain self-isolating until the end of term. If this is the case, please feel free to send her any good luck wishes via email or via the school office. Hopefully, we will be able to reopen the EYFS bubble so that Mrs Collins can return before the end of term but we cannot guarantee this at the moment.

I am sure that you will all join with me to wish Mrs Collins every success and happiness in her new career and I look forward to working in close partnership with you all, and that you have a lovely summer.

Kind regards,

Carol Ann Turner
Executive Head Teacher
